More About John Chebultz, M.F.T.

When we are going through a difficult time, we often mistake obsessing for thinking, activity for evolution, and self-criticism for motivation. John Chebultz brings to his psychotherapy practice a deep commitment to helping his clients nurture insight, creativity and, most of all, clarity.

John’s diverse competencies as a psychotherapist enable him to tailor his approach to his clients’ needs. He brings to his work expertise in treatment for depression and anxiety, men’s issues, addiction/recovery, and crisis management. His calm, supportive presence creates the sense of safety needed for growth and change.

John earned a Masters degree in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute. He received further training at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, Clearview Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center and Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services. Most recently he earned a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from LAISPS and has completed training to be a Certified Group Therapist. Prior to pursuing graduate study, John worked in the business end of the entertainment industry where he enjoyed working with and in support of talented, creative people.
